AT&T to increase the price for "majority" of their legacy plans.
AT&T has recently announced that a majority of its retired consumer unlimited plans will see a price hike. For single line accounts, the increase will be $10 per month. For accounts with multiple lines, the increase will be a flat increase of $20 per month, regardless of the number of lines the user has.
The following unlimited smartphone plans are affected by the price increase:
- Unlimited Plus
- Unlimited Plus Enhanced
- Unlimited &More
- Unlimited &More Premium
- Unlimited Value
- Unlimited Choice
- Unlimited Choice II
- Unlimited Choice Enhanced
- Unlimited (with TV)
Alongside the price increase, AT&T is making some changes to these other legacy plans as well:
- Unlimited Plus, Plus Enhanced, Unlimited &More Premium, and Unlimited (with TV) will now offer 100GB of high-speed priority data and 60GB of hotspot data.
- Unlimited Choice, Choice II, Choice Enhanced, Unlimited &More, and Unlimited Value plans will now include 75GB of high-speed priority data and 30GB of hotspot data.
Other Plans Affected-
In addition to the unlimited plans, legacy Family Talk, Nation plans, and Mobile Share data plans are also seeing price increases:
- Family Talk and Nation plans will have an increase of either $5 or $10, depending on the current fee.
- Mobile Share data plans will experience a $5 or $10 increase based on the data included in the plan.
*Unfortunately, no additional benefits are being added to these plans, unlike the unlimited plans.*
AT&T’s price increases on legacy plans are not unprecedented, and similar moves have been made by other carriers like Verizon and T-Mobile. While you can continue with your current plan, it’s important to evaluate whether the new costs still justify keeping it. We will keep an eye out for updates on any other plans that may be affected by these changes.
